7 Steps Towards Connecting With Your Teenage Son: A Mother's Guide

As the Author of many books and the mother of a future teenager, I have read a few books about how to raise teenagers. I picked this guide up and gave it a shot! I was totally surprised with how well I connected with the Author. The late nights worrying over the safety of our children is definitely something all mother’s have in common!
As far as the book goes, I really learned a lot. I know everyone just wants their kids to be happy, but there has to be some rules for safety. I learned a lot about setting boundaries for my child and sticking to them.
This book also teaches you the importance of communicating with your teenager. When children become teenagers, they sort of shut their parents out. It is important for you to communicate with them and remind them that you are there, you care, and that they can still come to you with any problem that they may have.
I also really enjoyed the chapter about spending time with your teenager. When children become teenagers, they don’t really want to hang out with their parents as much as they used to. They would rather be off with their friends somewhere. It is still very important to try to spend as much time with your teenager as you can. You should at least try to eat dinner with them at night.
Overall, I loved this book and really enjoyed reading it! I highly recommend it to all mothers out there with teenagers or soon to be teenagers! As an Author, It is well written and easy to follow and understand!

Julie's Magical Discovery, The Secret To Making And Keeping Friends

This book tells the story of how Julie is very shy and is having a hard time making friends. It is an interactive book with a choice to make. As Julie falls into a book, she meets a princess. You can either choose to help the princess or walk away. If she goes to the princess, she has a new friend. It teaches children about caring.
Julie then continues through the forest and she meets a dragon. Then you have another choice to make. You can help the dragon or walk away. Here is where it teaches children about sharing. If you share with the dragon, you have a new friend.
Then she continues through the forest and meets a knight. If she helps the knight, she has a new friend. This is where she learns about helping people in need and being kind. Julie learned how to make new friends!
I really enjoyed reading this book. It is very educational. I love that it rhymes and is interactive. I think children will really enjoy picking how the story will go and how many friends Julie will have in the end. I love how it tells children what will happen if they don’t care, share, or be kind and help someone in need.  The illustrations are also really nice too! I recommend this book!

Snuffy and Vroom-Vroom

I gave this book 5 Stars for several reasons. This book tells the story of how two brothers, Snuffy and Vroom-Vroom, ended up in the same vacuum cleaner store. After spending over a year together, they were finally purchased. They were so sad to be apart.
With the help from the tooth fairy, Snuffy learned to be happy with the people that took him home. She taught him how to have friends. Snuffy found so much love and happiness; he even risked his own life to save the baby in his new family. The tooth fairy sung him a catchy little tune that you will have fun singing with your own child!
A must read to know, Will Snuffy and Vroom-Vroom ever see each other again?
This book is very educational. It teaches about emotions such as: sadness, separation anxiety, love, and happiness. I really enjoyed reading it with my child. It is well written and the illustrations are really nice. The story is really sweet and heartwarming and I recommend this book!

The Rebirth of Dino Earth

The Rebirth of Dino Earth
This is a very fun story of how a long time ago aliens kidnapped the dinosaurs. It goes on to tell how the dinosaurs escaped! The aliens came to try to get the dinosaurs back. You must read this book to know the end. Did the dinosaurs win or did the Aliens prevail?
I love the fact that this book rhymes. The story flows and they rhymes are catchy.
I love the illustrations! They are beautiful!
It is also educational. It teaches children that no matter if you are big or small; you can do something and succeed if you want to! Being small can even have its advantages when trying to sneak through the cracks to save someone!

I Reviewed Supernatural Hero!

http://www.amazon.com/Supernatural-Action-Adventure-Comics-Graphic-ebook/dp/B00G3J1XGC/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1392228325&sr=1-1&keywords=Supernatural+Hero

My review of Supernatural Hero

This is a very heart filled book. It is a story about a boy that doesn’t fit in at school or home. I read the whole book in one sitting. After every chapter, I kept wanting to know more until I had read the whole book! I really enjoyed the illustrations also. They give you a good visual experience about the characters in the story and what is going on.

This book is very detailed and well written! It falls into several categories, Romance-for the love of his life. This book teaches you to never stop trying to win the person you love. It teaches you to believe in yourself. Bullying- is a big issue right now. This book should be promoted with the books about bullying. Loss of a person you love. This book brought tears to my eyes as I connected with the writer. I also lost my grandpa to cancer. My grandmother shortly followed him with Alzheimer’s. It also teaches children to wear helmets when they ride their bicycles. Then the book turns into a sweet and spooky ghost story, which explains how the character became a superhero. I loved how the ending tied in with the beginning. I love how it has a happy ending and doesn’t leaving you wondering about anything.

I won’t say anymore, or I will give the entire book away! I honestly really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to everyone. There are a lot of lessons to be learned in this book that makes it very educational also. This book definitely deserves a 5 star rating!!!

Book Review of Shelby Loves Candy

Shelby Loves Candy by Ryann Adams Hall - Destiny's review

This book is too sweet to eat!

Olive loves candy. Faith loves candy. I love candy. Who doesn't love candy? But there's one little girl that loves candy more than the rest of us. Her name is Shelby. Shelby Loves Candy is not only sweet and colourful, it's educational as well!

Shelby would eat candy all day and all night if she could but there are some very important things she has to do if she wants to keep eating candy. One of those things is to look after her teeth.

And what if all the candy in the world runs out? What will Shelby do then? You'll just have to read it and find out.

Ryann Adams Hall did an excellent job capturing not just one child's (but most children's) love of candy. Her writing is fun and upbeat. The text is short and simple. This would be an easy one for a little kid to read alone. But it's a lot of fun together!

Ryann's story could be used for many educational topics. It could be used as a teaching tool regarding how not to let your obsessions get out of control (in Shelby's case, candy) and brushing your teeth, and healthy snacking.

Inga Shalvashvili has captured the story's colourfulness in the illustrations. Shelby is a very cute and endearing character.

This book is top shelf!

An Interview With RyAnn Hall

Interview With Author Ryann Adams Hall
Meet The Author That Gave Us A Sweet Tooth

Ryann Adams Hall

What inspired you to write your first book?

My first book is a poem book I wrote in high school and decided to get it published. My daughter is the person that inspired me to start writing children's books. I write short children's books for children preschool age that have a short attention span. All the books people kept giving her were too long and she would never let me finish reading them too her. She would get bored and start trying to flip the pages or try to take the book from me. I really enjoy having shorter books to read to her. I can actually finish the story!

When did you start considering yourself a writer?

I still haven't to be honest with you. It still doesn't feel like I am actually an Author. I guess I always thought fame came with being an Author. But I realize only few make it there. People like Stephanie Meyer! Maybe I'll have my time in the spotlight one day.

Out of the books you've written, which is your favorite?

My favorite book right now isn't published yet. It's called Butterfly's Big Adventure. It is with an illustrator now and will be published soon! Kayleigh Butterfly goes on a Big Adventure exploring all the neat places (in the United States) her momma always told her about in her bedtime stories. Next to that one, I really love the Shelby Loves Candy Book. The illustrations are so bright and pretty!

How do you feel about being interviewed by a children's book character?

She is awesome! Taking the time out of her day to interview someone like me! I thank her very much!

What are you working on next?

Butterfly's Big Adventure is with an illustrator. Bella Wants to be a Writer will be with an illustrator soon. Also, Valentine's Crushed, a short, first chapter book for young children, is waiting on an answer from a publisher.

Can you share a little of your current work with us?

Caden Loves his Momma was the first book I wrote and illustrated myself. It came from my nephew and how much he loves his momma. She cannot go a foot away from him without him crying! Next, I wrote and Illustrated Rylie's New Bike. Caden's sister, my niece. I wrote this based on the bike she got for her birthday. Then there is Abbie Goes to the Zoo and Shelby Loves Candy. My other sisters two girls. I wrote and Illustrated Three Little Sisters based on some childhood memories of my sisters and I. Seasons Come, Seasons Go, is a picture book I wrote for my daughter.

Out of your own characters, do you have a favorite?

My daughter of course! I love my nieces and nephew too of course!

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Don't let anyone tell you, you can't! Don't worry about bad reviews. Try to learn from them or correct the mistake, if there is one.

What do you do when you are not writing?

Promoting, Advertising! Working on books. Or playing with my daughter and taking care of my house.

If you had to live in one of your books which book would it be?

Butterfly's Big Adventure!

What was your favourite book when you were a kid?

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish was the first book I ever read by myself. It felt so great to read a book all by myself!

What is your favorite kind of candy?

Reeses Cups! Butterfinger or Jr. Mints will do fine too.
